Studio Web-Cam

Hi
People who write me about my art usually ask how I can be living in
Minnesota. I thought I'd put up my fake web-cam (it's really just a
digital photo I took out my studio window) to illustrate instead why
someone might start making colorful beach paintings.

I have lived in some really great and crazy places. But I have family and
friends here in Minnesota that are all very cool people. So despite the
humidity, mosquitoes, woodticks, biting cold, snow, ice, short
days, and general flatness... Minnesota is a great place to be.

I did go to art school (back 20 years ago.) But I never had a painting class.
Maybe that shows? I remember doing a lot of collage and terrible sculptures.
The first painting I did was while living in Finland, where it is even darker
and colder than here in Minnesota. But it was very beautiful and the people
I know there inspire me to keep being true.

If you have any questions, or if you have an opinion about why zombies are
always so hungry, send me an email.
Thanks for taking the time to look at my paintings.
Peaceful, easy yet non-complacent living to you~
Shannon
